Vittoria Colonna is an Irish/Italian filmmaker. She grew up between the rural landscapes of Ireland and the ancient grandeur of Italy's most idyllic cities, which led to her studying fine art in Rome's L'Accademia di Belle Arti. She then went on to train full time at the internationally acclaimed Gaiety school of Acting in Dublin, leading her talents to merge in the form of film directing, writing and producing. Her visual flare and energy gave Vittoria the opportunity to direct several music videos for Sony BMG award winning singer Julie Feeney and Felix da Housecat to name a few and the art documentary Here/Shapiro filmed in London and New York. Most impressively though, is the touring success of her feature documentary, Identities, which has been sponsored by the Arts Council of Ireland and Irish Film Board. One of the stories My Identity was awarded The ICCL Human Rights Film Award, Ireland, June 2009 judged by the prestigious panel; Rebecca Miller, Jeremy Irons, Sinéad Cusack, Jim Sheridan and Kirsten Sheridan. Identities also won Best Documentary Feature at The Gaze Film Festival. Vittoria is a member of the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland and is currently in pre-production on a number of fiction and documentary projects.
